The Critical Industrial Technologies (CIT) initiative helps new Made-In-Ontario products, hit the market faster.

Each Dev Site focuses on a unique industrial aspect of critical technology. They are established by industry incumbents, vendors, and associations in their respective technology and/or sector domains. Each Dev Site has made significant investments into their next generation infrastructure, platforms, and equipment.

As part of the CIT program, the Ontario Centre of Innovation has partnered with these organizations to extend these capabilities for SMEs to utilize and integrate learnings, assets, and/or new IP into their product/service suites.

There are two ways for Small-and-Medium-Sized-Enterprises (SMEs) to access a Technology Development Site:

Apply to the Technology Access Program for subsidized access to a Dev Site. Best for: companies that have developed a solution employing critical technologies but have not yet had the opportunity to validate in real-life environments for their target market.

Apply to the Development and Commercialization Program for subsidized Dev Site access plus up to $100k to derisk and offset the costs of product development activities. Best for: companies with critical technology products (fully realized or in-development) that are looking to accelerate commercialization within the core CIT sectors.
