McMaster University offers two streams of Dev Site in advanced manufacturing or construction.

The McMaster Manufacturing Research Institute (MMRI) – Advanced Manufacturing

The McMaster Manufacturing Research Institute (MMRI) is a state-of-the-art applied research and innovation centre that offers design and innovation services and training opportunities. Our mission is to develop intelligent solutions to issues faced by Canada’s manufacturers in all steps of the manufacturing process. Offering world-class instrumentation, manufacturing expertise, and cutting-edge industrial scale testing facilities, the MMRI Advanced Manufacturing Technology Development Site provides SMEs with the resources to develop and transfer innovative technologies into their products, services, and operations.

The MMRI Technology Development Site is ideal for companies looking to quantify the impact of material, tool, or process selection on their product or manufacturing outcomes; test or validate innovative ideas, prototypes, products, or manufacturing methods; or deploy automation tools or robots in their operations. The MMRI helps companies realize clean growth, cost reductions, lean operations, productivity improvements, quality enhancements, and technology advancements.

McMaster Innovation Park – Construction

McMaster Innovation Park (MIP) is Canada’s premier research and innovation park supporting startups, businesses, government labs, and university researchers by offering collaborative space to transform ideas from vision to commercial reality. Our mission is to help companies grow. MIP has over 700,00 square feet of finished office and lab spaces across five buildings. As an OCI Technology Development Site, we welcome SMEs to test their innovative products in any of the following projects: groundbreaking of a 7 storey hotel, design and buildout of a district energy system, and upgrades to existing buildings, infrastructure, and grounds.​
