Turnkey Communications is a Thunder Bay-based systems integrator specializing in private cellular networks, digital infrastructure, and industrial communication systems. Founded in 1996, the company supports sectors including mining, energy, utilities, transportation, construction, forestry, and public safety with reliable connectivity solutions for remote and complex environments.Its flagship platform, KYRO, is a modular private LTE/5G system designed for rapid deployment, enabling real-time communications, telemetry, and IoT connectivity in areas with limited or no existing infrastructure.

Project

Through the Future Ready program, Turnkey Communications will strengthen its internal capabilities in private LTE and 5G network deployment and operations. Employees will participate in specialized training delivered by industry experts, combining classroom instruction with hands-on experience through the design, deployment, and operation of a live private LTE/5G network. Training will cover key areas such as wireless network fundamentals, system integration, security, network operations, and industry best practices, helping staff build the skills required to support next-generation connectivity solutions.

Impact

By the completion of this project, participating employees will have completed structured training and earned industry-recognized credentials related to private LTE and 5G networks. The initiative will strengthen Turnkey’s technical expertise, enhance workforce readiness, and support the company’s continued growth as a Canadian leader in private wireless and advanced communications infrastructure. It will also help build Ontario’s capacity in next-generation wireless technologies, supporting the adoption of secure and reliable connectivity solutions across critical industries while creating a stronger talent pipeline for advanced telecommunications and digital infrastructure projects
