Project

This project focuses on developing an AI-enabled platform for water infrastructure risk detection by combining satellite-based ground motion data with pipeline and environmental datasets. In collaboration with Cambrian College’s Centre for Smart Mining, the work will integrate multiple data sources and improve processing efficiency to support large-scale analysis. The platform will apply AI to identify patterns associated with pipeline failure and generate risk insights that help utilities detect leaks early and prioritize maintenance. The result is a data-driven approach to improving the resilience and performance of water and wastewater systems.

Impact

This project enables TMC to expand its technology into water infrastructure applications by delivering a validated platform for early leak detection and risk analysis. By helping utilities identify issues before they escalate, the solution supports reduced water loss, lower maintenance costs, and improved system reliability.
