Project

To address longstanding inefficiencies in drill core analysis, this project brings together non-destructive testing sensors into a single, integrated system. Working with partners including Cambrian College, NORCAT, Northern College, Canada Nickel Company, and Polytechnique Montréal, Scient is developing a high-throughput, automated solution that continuously scans and processes drill core samples. The system combines multi-sensor data capture with robotic handling and advanced software to create detailed digital representations of physical cores. By streamlining data collection and integrating chemical and visual analysis, the project aims to deliver faster, more consistent, and more accessible insights for mineral exploration.

Impact

This project enables Scient to advance a next-generation core digitization platform toward commercial readiness, strengthening its position in the mining technology market.
