Saiwa.ai is a technology company that has developed a self-serve, software as a service (SAAS) computer vision platform that allows users to process their drone or other computer-vision related data. With Saiwa.ai, users can tag and annotate their data and develop detection algorithms with no code. Our digital product ‘Sairone’ focuses on the analysis of drone or other aerial-acquired imagery for ecological and agricultural purposes. Our platform has pre-trained models for invasive species (aquatic and terrestrial), noxious weed species, and other problematic agronomic weeds that pose an economic challenge to crop production.
For greenhouse growers, Saiwa currently offer a module that lets operators detect and pinpoint missed plantings in the form of empty plant tray cells. Saiwa would like to be able to offer greenhouse growers a solution for early plant stress detection and localization so that they can perform early intervention and reduce the spread of diseases that can impact yield and quality of their crops. With support from the Development and Commercialization Program and access to the Vineland TDS, Saiwa plans is to bring their greenhouse plant stress detection technology to a more mature standpoint. The goal is to develop stress detection modules that can be used by docked drone flights and robotic walkthroughs or inspections, early enough to mitigate damage, enhance plant health, and optimize growth conditions, leading to higher cucumber crop yield and quality
At the completion of the project, Saiwa plans to have a SAAS platform, and machine learning APIs ready for commercial deployment. Further efforts will be required to test and calibrate the platform prior to commercial release. With the commercialization of this technology, Saiwa will be able to bring two employees to full time positions based on additional sales of the developed software solution and expect to generate up to $1.5 million in revenue per year.
