Remote Robotic Systems (formerlyRMUS Canada Inc.), founded in 2019, is a leading unmanned solutions provider and one of North America’s largest manufacturers and vendors of remotely piloted aircraft systems (RPAS). The company specializes in drone and robotics technologies for commercial, industrial, and government applications, supporting sectors such as mining, infrastructure, energy, and defense. Remote Robotic Systems delivers integrated solutions including equipment, training, and support to help organizations improve safety, efficiency, and decision-making in complex operating environments.
This project brings together Remote Robotic Systems and Unmanned Aerial Services Inc. (UAS) to design, develop, prototype, and test three aerial platforms for use in the Canadian mining and defense sectors. Supported by the CIT Sector Adoption program, the work focuses on advancing cost-effective, Canadian-based manufacturing of unmanned systems that incorporate advanced robotics with AI and machine learning. The platforms are being developed to operate in a range of environmental and operational conditions, enabling autonomous mission execution while addressing challenges related to data security, resource optimization, and supply chain reliability.
This project supports the domestic development of critical unmanned solutions production capabilities in Canada. By advancing Canadian-based manufacturing, the initiative helps reduce reliance on imported technologies and strengthens the Ontario mining and defense supply chains. It also contributes to improved economic resilience and supports the reshoring of production, positioning Ontario as a leader in advanced unmanned systems for industrial and defense applications. The project further establishes a foundation for ongoing innovation and commercialization of Canadian-built aerial platforms, with potential applications across mining, infrastructure, and other critical sectors.
