QEA Tech

About

QEA conducts precise, data-driven building envelope audits using patented AI software, drones, and thermography. QEA is a leader and pioneer in AI-driven building envelope analytics, delivering audits that are fast, cost-effective, and non intrusive. QEA uses industrial drones to capture thousands of high-resolution, close-proximity thermal and visual images of the building envelope. QEA’s IoT devices are placed throughout the building envelope to collect additional data needed for energy loss calibration. This data is processed and analyzed by their patented AI software, which quantifies energy loss for each square centimeter of the building envelope and pinpoints a wide range of issues down to centimeters. QEA’s solution calculates energy losses in megawatt hours and dollars, tons of carbon dioxide equivalent, actual effective U values, and forecasted energy and emissions savings associated with each building envelope element.

Project

Through this Technology Access Project, QEA Tech aims to leverage the Evergreen Brick Works TDS  to test new data collection technologies and methodologies, expanding the capabilities of the building envelope analytics platform. Data collection technologies and methodologies that QEA Tech will be testing include LiDAR data collection, data capture with Skydio drones, collecting thermal and visual building envelope data at various times of the day and in diverse weather scenarios, and installing QEA Tech’s IoT sensors to calculate heat flux under various environmental conditions.

Impact

The proposed project directly drives corporate growth, high-value employment, and software productivity. By providing a thermal 3D model as part of our building envelope assessment, QEA will be able to increase their revenue per project by approximately $5000  – $20,000  by having the option to add the model as an additional service. QEA’s clients have previously requested similar concepts to thermal 3D models, and as such QEA is confident that it will be valuable in providing additional project revenue.
