Q & L Logistics

About

QNL Logistics Inc. is a privately held logistics provider offering specialized freight forwarding and integrated supply chain solutions. The company serves a broad client base across manufacturing, construction, industrial machinery, and the automotive sector. QNL provides end-to-end logistics coordination across multiple transportation modes, including road, rail, air, and ocean. Its competitive strengths include personalized service, a strong reputation for reliability, and long-standing partnerships with domestic and international carriers. The company distinguishes itself from larger third-party logistics (3PL) competitors by offering flexible, responsive, and customized freight solutions tailored to each client’s operational needs.

Project

QNL is now preparing to move into the next phase of digital transformation by embedding AI capabilities into its business processes, starting with freight pricing strategy. While QNL understands the potential value of predictive analytics and AI-based optimization, it currently lacks the technical and organizational readiness to implement such tools.  In order to address the current state of technical knowledge, the company is looking to leverage support from the Future Ready Program to training four of its key employees on AI.  The working arrangement is centered around delivering a customized, on-site AI/ML Product Management and Innovation Training Program, tailored to the company’s specific upskilling needs and long-term digital transformation goals.

Impact

This project will result in measurable skill development across four employees at QNL Logistics Inc., enabling them to lead and support the adoption of artificial intelligence in operational areas such as freight pricing, customer management, and business analytics.  This will help QNL in adopting new technologies and increasing productivity of staff by 15-20% on quoting opportunities, a reduction in manual errors and rework which will save approximately $20,000 – $30,000 per year as well as up to $700,000 in new business annually and the need to hire two new staff in the next 18 -24 months.
