Provision

About

Provision is transforming risk management in the construction industry through AI-driven automation. Our platform helps legal, operational, and pre-construction teams identify and mitigate risks in contracts and project documentation, reducing project delays and financial losses.

Project

Provisions’ latest initiative focuses on detecting conflicts in construction documents using proprietary data sets and generative AI.  Currently, identifying conflicting requirements is a slow, manual process prone to errors, leading to costly rework, legal disputes, and profit erosion.  The construction industry in North America loses close to $200 billion annually due to these inefficiencies.  The company’s AI-powered solution will automate conflict detection before bidding, helping contractors catch risks early and avoid downstream issues.  By reducing rework and waste by at least 50%, this technology will improve project outcomes and profitability.  With widespread industry adoption, the solution has the potential to become a standard tool for risk management in construction.   Through the Development and Commercialization program, Provision with work the Evergreen Brickworks TDS to accelerate model training, validation and industry-standard benchmarking.

Impact & Outcomes

This project aims to establish AI-powered risk review as an industry standard, working with Ontario’s regulatory and construction bodies to promote its adoption as a best practice in pre-bid processes. It also plans to expand into broader North American and European construction markets. Initial funding and development will position Provision as a leader in AI-driven risk management, generating both direct and indirect economic benefits. The project will create six high-skilled AI and engineering jobs in Ontario in its first year, with projected annual recurring revenue exceeding $3 million by Year 3. It is expected to save contractors up to $100 billion globally by reducing rework and disputes, while increasing productivity through a 50% reduction in manual contract review time. Indirectly, the project will strengthen Ontario’s reputation as a hub for AI-based industrial innovation, support job creation along the AI value chain, and provide critical tools for small and mid-sized contractors who lack in-house legal teams, making contract analysis more efficient and accessible.
