M&M Supply

About

1000524760 ONTARIO INC., also known as M&M Supply, provides construction services in several forms. The company sources products to a project specification. They compare options and matches products where a customer describes a requirement rather than an item. For cabinet work, it reviews sizing, finish and configuration, and it identifies hardware and replacement parts for jobs already in progress. M&M Supply arranges delivery timing around an installer’s schedule. For trade accounts that order continually, it holds repeat and bulk supply arrangements.  M&M Supply keeps construction materials, hardware, tools, cabinets, and site supplies in its own warehouse in Aurora, Ontario, and supplies them to the trade nationwide.

Project

M&M Supply’s current manual process leads to frequent small errors—wrong quantities, incorrect variants, missed items, and unrecorded substitutions.  With support from the Future Ready program, six of the company’s eight employees will be trained to use AI to turn customer requests into complete, fully specified orders before the warehouse touches them. Staff will learn to use AI to interpret photographs and abbreviations, check orders for missing items, verify against stock, and draft customer communications.

Impact

By the end of the project, M&M Supply will have six employees who can take a customer’s request in whatever form it arrives and turn it into an order that is complete, fully specified and checked before the warehouse receives it. As a result of more accurate orders, M&M Supply anticipates that credit notes will be reduced from the current two per cent of revenue toward one per cent across the two years following the training. At current turnover, that is in the region of $18,000 a year recovered.
