Meridian Reno Studio is a full-service construction firm operating out of Markham, Ontario that provides complete design and build services for residential and commercial clients, including kitchen and bathroom remodels, basement finishing, house additions, custom home construction, and laneway suite development. The company employs a team of ten professionals, including interior designers, project managers, and general contractors who manage each project from concept to completion. The company serves homeowners and businesses across the surrounding regions, prioritizing quality materials, skilled craftsmanship, open communication, and on-time delivery, treating each client with a personalized approach that ensures every renovation project is seamless, enjoyable, and built to last.
The company has already made the strategic decision to invest in AI tools and has them available within the organization. The challenge, however, is that staff has not yet received formal training in how to use these tools. With support from the Future Ready program, Meridian Reno Studio staff will receive training focused on practical AI applications in construction workflows, such as estimating, scheduling, and documentation. The objective is to incorporate AI tools into daily operations so that the team can reduce manual errors, improve coordination, and complete projects with fewer delays and better cost control
Employees will leave the training with practical skills to apply AI to their daily work, reducing quotation turnaround time and minimizing costly ordering errors. The company currently completes approximately 30 renovation projects annually with ten employees, generating $900,000 in revenue. With the five trained employees fully utilizing AI in their daily work, the company expects to increase project capacity in the first year to 35 projects. As the remaining five employees are trained and the entire company adopts AI-assisted workflows, project capacity will increase to 40 projects in the second year, 50 projects in the third year, and continue growing in subsequent years as workflows become more efficient.
