MASV

About

MASV is a cloud-based software company specializing in Intelligent Managed File Transfer (iMFT), designed to move massive, terabyte-scale datasets quickly, reliably, and securely via cloud. Headquartered in Ottawa, the company delivers a proprietary global acceleration network capable of transfer speeds up to 10 Gbps, supporting data-intensive industries such as media, geospatial, and enterprise IT. Its platform includes desktop applications, secure file portals, and API-driven automation tools that enable seamless integration into existing data workflows.

Project

With support from the CIT Development and Commercialization program, MASV is developing the Mining Industrial Data Acceleration System (MIDAS) in partnership with Cambrian College as the Technology Development Site. MIDAS is designed to optimize the rapid transfer of large geospatial datasets, LiDAR scans, and sensor data from remote mining and field operations to centralized cloud environments. Leveraging MASV’s proprietary “Multiconnect” channel bonding technology, the system ensures resilient, high-speed data transfer even in low-bandwidth or unstable connectivity conditions common in Northern Ontario. Cambrian College will support validation and testing in mining-relevant environments, helping refine performance, scalability, and real-world deployment readiness.

Impact

The project will enable MASV to expand into mining, oil and gas, and critical industrial sectors by delivering a commercially ready data pipeline solution that bridges remote data collection and centralized analytics. MIDAS will improve operational efficiency by reducing data transfer bottlenecks, enabling faster decision-making and supporting AI-driven applications such as predictive maintenance. Outcomes include new revenue growth, job creation in Ontario, and increased productivity for the mining sector, while strengthening data security and reducing risks associated with data loss and industrial espionage.
