KhetiBuddy is a SaaS-based AgTech platform that helps agribusinesses digitize and optimize farming operations while promoting environmental sustainability. With operations in India and Canada, KhetiBuddy provides modular solutions across the agricultural value chain—from crop planning to traceability, inventory tracking, and sustainability reporting. The platform has been successfully deployed in India through projects with the World Bank and the Government of Maharashtra, tracking over 3,500 acres of farmland.
In this Technology Access Program Project, Khetibuddy will use the Vineland TDS to focus on field-testing KhetiBuddy’s Carbon Module in Ontario. This module integrates satellite remote sensing, other sources of field data, and AI-driven analytics to monitor soil health and calculate carbon sequestration from regenerative farming practices. Although the module has been validated in India, it must be calibrated to accurately reflect operation in Canada. The goal is to validate the scientific and technological reliability of the module under real-world farm conditions in Canada. It aims to quantify the carbon footprint reduction of specific practices such as cover cropping, reduced tillage, composting, and biochar application.
The primary outcome of this project is the successful field validation of Khetibuddy’s Carbon Module for use in Ontario’s agricultural systems. This will position the platform to support local agribusinesses in tracking and monetizing soil carbon sequestration through voluntary carbon markets and ESG compliance. The commercial offering of the platform in Canada is expected to generate up to $500 thousand in revenue and create up to 3 new full-time positions in the 18 months post project.
