2543690 Ontario Inc. focuses on cultivating premium grass used as livestock feed. This may sound simple on the surface, but the work is closely connected to the wider food supply chain. Farmers rely on dependable feed to raise healthy animals for meat and dairy production. When the feed is consistent, nutrient-rich, and available on time, it helps farms manage livestock growth more effectively and maintain a steadier production cycle.
Grass cultivation depends heavily on soil conditions, growing cycles, weather changes, harvest timing, and proper land management. For this reason, the company wants to improve how its team monitors production conditions and makes daily farming decisions. AI training gives the company a practical way to start building those skills internally. Through the support of the Future Ready program, the team will receive training to employees understand, test, and validate how AI can be used as a practical decision-support tool before the company moves toward broader operational adoption.
The project will produce practical training outcomes that the company can continue using after the five-day program. By the end of the project, five employees, representing 50% of the company’s full-time workforce, will complete AI training related to crop growth monitoring, feed quality review, production data analysis, and sustainable resource management. In the first year after training, the company expects the main benefit to come from better tracking of cutting dates, regrowth intervals, and paddock-level observations. If employees can reduce uncertainty around harvest readiness and improve timing by approximately 2 to 3 days per cutting cycle, the company may be able to reduce missed cutting windows and improve usable tonnage.
