ImmunoCeutica

About

ImmunoCeutica Inc. (ICI) is a Canadian biotechnology company dedicated to enhancing human and animal health through natural, immune-focused products and services. The company is led by a team of award-winning scientists and technical experts specializing in immunochemistry, virology, toxicology, cancer biology, nutraceuticals, and public health. ICI offers research, products and solutions related to empowering immunity naturally. ICI’s primary competencies are research and innovation, focusing primarily on testing immune-related biomarkers, as well as supplementation of immunoceuticals like vitamin D to ensure immuno-sufficiency for both humans and animals.

Project

ICI is developing portable testing technologies to deliver highly accurate biomarker measurements in the form of a highly portable and cost-effective diagnostic tool that enables the detection of immunological biomarkers that will be tested for use on dairy farms.  Through the support of the Development and Commercialization program, this project aims to develop and implement a pocket-sized lateral flow immuno-assay (LFIA) system that allows for real-time and portable on-site assessment of health biomarkers in food livestock species.  ICI will be utilizing the CyberRange TDS in order to carry out PEN testing to ensure the security of the platform.

Impact & Outcomes

This project will lead to a novel, real time sensitive LFIA solution to monitor biomarkers of immuno-competence to mitigate the risk of infectious diseases in livestock, including, but not limited to avian influenza.  With the support of CyberRange, ICI will have a secure platform for the transmission of potentially sensitive data on animal health.  ImmunoCeutica anticipates the need to hire an additional 3-5 full-time employees and increase revenue to $1 million to $3 million three years post project.
