Project

Over the past three years, Idealogical has worked closely with the Canadian Elevator Industry Education Training Program (CEIEP) to incorporate VR training into their apprenticeship program. Equipped with a strategic partnership with Canon Canada, Idealogical now has the capabilities to push beyond VR into mixed reality, integrating tactile feedback, spatial audio, environmental effects, and AI-driven adaptive learning. Through this Sector Adoption program project, Idealogical will develop and pilot the first use case of AI-enhanced MR training in Canada for the skilled trades.

Impact & Outcomes

At the completion of the project, Idealogical will have a full integrated AI-driven MR training platform operating at TRL 7-8, physical training tools tagged with QR codes and MR overlays, AI assistant for training scenarios and comprehensive performance validation to support commercialization.   Upon project completion, the AI-driven MR platform will be ready for small-scale commercialization in Ontario. The company will continue to iterate the platform beyond project completion to ensure they stay at the forefront of innovation in the sector. Idealogical forecasts revenue increases of 113% and the need to hire an additional 4 full-time employees as a result of the project. The new platform will directly support the skilled trades workforce by addressing labour gaps through improved education, enabling training systems to function more autonomously with fewer manual interventions from trainers, and transferring knowledge more effectively to apprentices.
