Project

In partnership with the NORCAT Underground Centre and supported by CIT’s Development and Commercialization Program, Forged Operations is developing an AI-powered voice assistant designed for underground mining environments. Unlike typical AI tools that require internet connectivity, this solution operates offline through existing two-way radios and local networks. By using a mining-specific knowledge base and terminology, the system will instantly deliver accurate safety and operational information to miners in the field.

Impact

The project will advance Forged Operations’ OpsAssist platform with a fully functional offline AI voice assistant, validated through real-world testing at NORCAT’s Underground Centre.
