Corfix Inc. is a construction technology that has developed an all-in-one construction safety and field documentation platform that replaces the paper binders, hand-filled forms and photographed paperwork that still govern most jobsites. The platform digitizes safety forms and inspections, certification and training-record tracking, time cards, asset and equipment directories, digital document binders, and project and task management, delivered through a mobile-first application built to work offline in field conditions. Workers report incidents, complete forms, access manuals and prove certifications from a phone; office and safety staff receive verifiable, time-stamped records in real time.
Many of the Corfix staff have never had formal cybersecurity training, and construction is among the most targeted sectors for phishing, business email compromise, and ransomware. To address this gap, Corfix, with the support of the Future Ready program, is engaging a trainer to deliver in-person cybersecurity awareness training to their employees. The goal of this training is to measurably raise the human-layer security capability of the Corfix workforce, and produce the documented, verifiable evidence that lets the company clear enterprise procurement and compete for larger contracts from Ontario.
With all of the Corfix staff trained in cybersecurity, the company projects that successful phishing rates will drop from 60% to 5% directly impacting the company’s revenue and productivity. Corfix anticipates incremental revenue increases from $200,000 to $500,000 per year as a result of better positioning for responses to procurement inquiries with respect to cybersecurity readiness. This revenue increase could lead to the addition of one or two full-time employees over the next 36 months.
