B Space Inc

About

B Space Inc. is a construction company serving the Toronto and the Greater Toronto Area through a wide range of construction services, including general contracting, construction management, design-build projects, full-house construction, home additions, kitchen and bathroom construction, basement construction, office construction, restaurant construction, and retail store construction.  B Space Inc. supports clients from the early planning stage through design coordination, 3D visualization, project scheduling, construction execution, and final delivery. The company has an in-house team of designers, project coordinators, and construction professionals, which allows it to manage both the planning and on-site construction stages in a coordinated manner.

Project

Before construction begins, B Space Inc.’s staff spend considerable time gathering and organizing information from client meetings, site visits, photographs, sketches, drawings, emails, and project notes.  This Future Ready program supported project will provide AI training to three employees responsible for design planning, project coordination, and business development. The training will focus on practical ways to use AI tools to support client requirement analysis, design planning, project scope development, and proposal preparation as part of the company’s construction planning process.

Impact

Through this project, B Space Inc. will strengthen the capabilities of employees who are responsible for turning client requirements into design planning documents, project scopes, and proposal materials. The project will improve how project information is organized during the planning stage, where staff currently spend significant time reviewing client consultations, site visit notes, photographs, sketches, emails, design discussions, and project requirements before construction can move forward.  Based on the company’s current project inquiry volume, this improvement could save approximately 300–450 staff hours per year. At an estimated internal labor value of $35 per hour, this represents approximately $10,500 to $15,750 in annual productivity value.
