Trax is Canada’s leading regulatory platform for the design and construction industry, consolidating and continuously updating regulatory information to help municipal officials and industry professionals achieve compliance faster and with greater accuracy. We serve over 300 municipalities across Canada including 176 in Ontario, representing more than 60% of the province’s largest municipalities – as well as 400+ industry firms spanning code consultants, architects, engineers, builders, and contractors. A 100% Canadian company based in Toronto, Trax is a MaRS supported venture.
Project
This project creates structured UI/UX research and design focused on evaluating and enhancing two new AI enabled products: Trax Review and Trax AI Assistant. These tools are designed to improve how municipal officials and regulatory professionals interact with complex building permit and code requirements. Through the support from the Technology Development Internship program, Trax will bring on an intern to apply design methodologies and usability principles to conduct comprehensive interface and experience analyses of both products, while developing practical skills aligned with their academic background.
Impact
The proposed project supports the development of intuitive, user-friendly products through UI/UX research, usability evaluation, user documentation development, and the design of high-fidelity concepts for future AI-enabled features and add-ons. This work will help improve product adoption, enhance customer experience, and support the continued development of AI-driven solutions for the housing and regulatory technology sector.
