KenWave Solutions Inc. has established itself as a leading provider of data-driven solutions aimed at closing the buried asset information gap. KenWave has been providing leak detection, condition assessment and loss mitigation solutions to a broad range of customers since 2020.  KenWave operates in the construction and infrastructure industries, developing external and non-invasive technologies, to provide reliable information on the condition of buried pipelines for asset management.  In addition to water and wastewater utilities, KenWave serves the leak detection and condition assessment needs of district heating systems, and industrial customers. KenWave also routinely partners with leading engineering consultants to deliver customized loss mitigation solutions.

Project

KenWave latest patented technology, Dynamic response Imaging (DRI), supports asset managers by providing reliable information on condition assessment related to pipe stiffness, wall conditions, leaks, air pockets, malfunctioning valves, and other anomalies to save utilities time, money, and water. The Development and Commercialization program supported project will focus on the implementation of artificial intelligence for asset management decisions on critical infrastructure including new industrial partners and pipeline systems.  KenWave will use the Evergreen Brick Works TDS for the installation of sensors and gathering of data to test and validate an AI model in the DRI platform as well as expand on the current offering for heating and cooling infrastructure.

Impact

Following the completion of the project, KenWave will deploy their platform across multiple regions and customers to further test and refine their leak detection solution.  KenWave estimates that use of the DRI platform will reduce analysis times by 30-50%, thus increasing the ability of the company to provide fast accurate analysis to clients.  This improved efficiency will allow KenWave to hire an additional nine full-time employees.
