HalalMeals

About

HalalMeals Ready Foods Ltd. is a Canadian digital food technology company specializing in culturally tailored, health-conscious meal and nutrition solutions for Muslim consumers and others seeking diverse meal options. Founded in 2020, our core product is a ready-to-eat halal meal subscription service delivering fresh, dietitian-reviewed meals to customers in major Canadian cities, including Toronto, Montreal, and soon Vancouver. HalalMeals currently operates an eCommerce based full-stack service model that handles everything from the ordering, the cooking, to the last-mile delivery.

Project

HalalMeals is developing an innovative AI-powered digital nutritionist platform that delivers personalized, culturally sensitive dietary guidance for individuals following halal diets. This groundbreaking project addresses the critical need for nutrition technology that respects religious dietary laws while providing evidence-based health recommendations.  With the support of the Development and Commercialization program, HalalMeals will work with the ventureLAB TDS to continue developing and commercializing an AI-powered recommendation engine built from two interlinked components.

Impact

The tangible outcome of this project will be a fully integrated, production-ready AI-powered nutrition recommendation platform embedded directly into the HalalMeals web and mobile applications.  Over the next three years, this project is expected to generate significant direct and indirect economic benefits in Ontario including the addition of at least two high-quality full-time positions as well as up to a 40% increase in the customer base projecting a 15% increase in annual recurring revenue. Indirectly, Ontario-based supply chain partners, including ingredient suppliers, packaging providers, and logistics partners, are expected to see proportional volume growth.
