Grain Discovery

About

Grain Discovery is a technology company specializing in developing digital platforms for the grain industry. With over 62 grain buyer clients and more than 16,000 farmers, the company offers a business-to-business (B2B) white-labelled platform designed to collect, manage, and report field-level sustainability data. The platform addresses the grain sector, focusing on commodities such as durum wheat, canola, soybeans, oats, and corn. Grain Discovery helps grain buyers and farmers meet evolving Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) requirements by enabling seamless integration of over 100 customizable data points related to sustainable farming practices, including tillage methods, crop rotations, fertilizer application, and plant protection products.

Project

Cybersecurity is critical for Grain Discovery because their platform handles sensitive client information, including detailed field data, farming practices, and payment transactions. A strong cybersecurity framework ensures the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of this information, safeguarding both our clients and their businesses. Through the support of the Development and Commercialization Program, Grain Discovery will leverage the CyberRange TDS to streamline the solution’s integration of critical technologies through a structured Discovery, Analysis, and Recommendation process.  This process will generate recommendations that highlight key areas for improvement in each DevOps stage and establish clear priorities to strengthen security and accelerate the platform’s development lifecycle.

Impact

The project will result in a validated and production-ready software platform designed to transform sustainability data management and reporting for the grain industry. The platform will include customizable templates, integration with farm management tools such as My John Deere, and AI-assisted analytics to streamline data collection, enhance reporting, and support ESG compliance.  The improved platform cybersecurity will enable Grain Discovery to reach $1.5 million in annual recurring revenue by 2026 and add an additional 6 full-time employees in software development, customer support and sales.
