Project

With support from the CIT Development and Commercialization Program, Velavu is deploying its asset tracking system at the NORCAT Underground Centre to validate performance in real-world mining conditions. The system uses a low-power mesh network of Tags, Anchors, and Gateways to provide reliable, real-time positioning and connectivity in environments where GPS fails. By integrating technologies like Bluetooth Angle of Arrival and Channel Sounding, Velavu’s solution enhances accuracy, enabling mining companies to locate equipment and personnel with confidence. Testing at NORCAT will refine the system’s reliability, optimize deployment strategies, and demonstrate its value as a scalable safety and efficiency tool for underground operations.

Impact

This project will result in a validated, mining-ready asset tracking solution that strengthens Velavu’s market presence and accelerates adoption in heavy industry.
