AgricUltra Advancements Inc. is a Canadian technology company specializing in innovative solutions for controlled environment agriculture (CEA). The company leverages their expertise in advanced photobiology, particularly UV light technology, and systems engineering to develop and deliver solutions that optimize plant growth, improve crop yields, and enhance agricultural productivity. Our core philosophy is to provide the agriculture sector with the most innovative, precise, and sustainable growing solutions.
The latest venture, utilizes AU’s proprietary knowledge in lighting systems combined with its expertise in steering the UVR8 pathway in plants to effect specific plant responses. This new project represents a significant expansion of AgricUltra’s technology into vineyard and orchard management. This innovative system aims to revolutionize the way agricultural organizations deal with all aspects of cultivating and maintaining their operations ranging from stress detection through to dealing with pests and pathogens by applying their proven UV technology in a mobile, outdoor setting.
The Innovation is an advanced, mobile, tractor-mounted system that provides chemical-free treatment for common and recurring environmental problems. It leverages AgricUltra’s proprietary and commercially proven MetaRail UV technology to deliver targeted UV treatments that effectively deal with pests and pathogens utilizing the UVR8 pathway. With support from the Development and Commercialization Program, AgricUtra plans to utilize the Vineland TDS to further refine aspects of the platform including training AI algorithms on datasets, optimizing algorithms, integrating AI with the UV application system and refining the robotic elements of the solution.
Following the completion of this project that has been provided support from the Development and Commercialization Program, AgricUltra will be well-positioned to move directly into production and market entry. The significant investment in development and design during this project phase means that the prototype will be refined and ready for scaling to meet market demand. As a result of commercializing the UV based solution, AgricUltra forecasts up to $1.75 million in annual revenue and the creation of up to 7 full-time positions within the next few years.
