About

Prest Development specializes in residential and commercial renovation, custom-built homes, house additions, laneway suites, garden suites, and commercial property improvement projects. The company supports clients through different stages of construction work, including project planning, scope review, site coordination, material follow-up, subcontractor coordination, client communication, and project delivery.  Its market includes homeowners, property owners, commercial landlords, and small business clients in Toronto and the Greater Toronto Area who require reliable construction, renovation, and property improvement services.

Project

Through this Future Ready program supported project, Prest staff will learn how AI tools can reduce repetitive administrative tasks, improve the consistency of reports and client updates, and support better coordination between office and site teams. The training will also cover important safeguards, including how to review AI-generated content, protect confidential information, and ensure that final decisions remain under human review.

Impact

By the end of the project, Prest Development Inc. will have addressed its current AI readiness limitations by training five employees and establishing a clearer internal understanding of how AI can support construction project coordination.  Efficiency improvements are projected to save the company an estimated $15,000 to $25,000 annually in recaptured administrative labor costs.  Prest also anticipates the capability of supporting up to two additional projects per year resulting in up to a $300,000 increase in annual revenue.
