L & X Building Supplies

About

L&X Building Supplies provides building materials, construction products, and related support services for residential and commercial construction projects. Its customers include contractors, builders, renovation professionals, and property owners who need reliable access to construction, repair, renovation, and project development materials.  The company provides a wide range of materials used in residential and commercial construction projects, helping customers access the products and information they need to complete projects efficiently.

Project

Through this Future Ready program supported project, L & X Building Supplies Ltd. will work with a technology advisor to provide AI training for employees involved in product coordination, sales, customer service, inventory management, and purchasing. The training will focus on practical ways AI can help staff organize product information, support customer inquiries, prepare quotation drafts, review inventory-related information, and improve communication between different business functions.

Impact

The main outcome of this project will be trained staff with a clearer and more consistent way to use AI in daily work. Instead of using AI only for general writing or individual searches, employees will learn how to use AI to summarize product documents, compare information, prepare draft responses, organize internal notes, and identify which information still needs to be verified before it is used with customers. L&X Building Supplies expect this training to support their target of reducing product lookup time, quotation preparation time, and repeated internal information checks after employees begin applying AI-supported workflows.  The company anticipates a decrease of 25 minutes in quotation preparation, 25 minute decrease in addressing inquiries and up to $35,000 savings due to increased employee productivity.
