KorrAI Technologies Ltd. is a Toronto-based, Y Combinator-backed software company building AI-native tools for the mining and infrastructure industries. Founded in 2020, KorrAI has commercialized satellite-based ground deformation monitoring solutions used by leading mining operators and insurers to assess risk across $100B+ in assets globally. Building on this foundation, the company developed TRAIL, an AI-native workspace that integrates proprietary geospatial evidence layers with site documents to accelerate desktop studies, closure planning, and compliance workflows delivering traceable, audit-ready outputs in hours rather than weeks.
In collaboration with Agnico Eagle Mines Ltd. and Cambrian College’s Centre for Smart Mining, this project pilots TRAIL across active closure and rehabilitation sites. TRAIL ingests fragmented site data monitoring records, geotechnical reports, sensor time-series, and geospatial datasets and runs structured AI workflows (Playbooks) to automate analysis that previously required weeks of manual effort. During the pilot, TRAIL replaced an error-prone Excel-based water quality monitoring process, performed DEM-derived hydrological flow analysis, refreshed outdated risk matrices across dispersed historical records, and produced stakeholder-ready visualizations with traceable, page-level citations. The project validates TRAIL in real operational settings to ensure it integrates seamlessly into mining workflows while improving efficiency, knowledge transfer, and regulatory readiness.
The project positions KorrAI to accelerate commercialization of TRAIL within the mining sector, where the pilot demonstrated concrete workflow replacement automating water quality compliance monitoring that previously consumed significant manual hours per site. By reducing analysis turnaround from weeks to hours, minimizing duplication of work, and producing audit-ready outputs with full evidence traceability, the technology delivers measurable efficiency gains for mining teams. The project also creates opportunities for recurring revenue through per-site deployments, supports job creation in software and data science roles, and enables broader adoption of AI-driven tools across Ontario’s mining industry.
