Ginkgo Sustainability has over 15 years of experience in green construction and landscape services. Ginkgo is a recognized leader in the design, installation, and maintenance of green roofs, green walls, low-impact development (LID) features, and other sustainable infrastructure. The company provides consulting services to support organizations pursuing environmentally responsible construction and maintenance practices. Ginkgo has also established a dedicated Technology Division, with a focus on Sustainability Engineering – developing digital tools to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of green infrastructure management.

Project

SoiLiNQ™ is Gingko’s proprietary environmental sensing and analytics platform that combines long-range wireless IoT sensors with a cloud-based system for data ingestion, analysis, and reporting. SoiLiNQ provides scalable, remote monitoring for green assets that can be accessed anywhere. Through the support of the Development and Commercialization program, Ginkgo will work with the Vineland TDS site to develop classification and predictive Machine Learning models, enhancing SoiLiNQ’s existing business intelligence pipelines and bringing thoughtful AI to underserved green- and agri-centric businesses, builders, municipalities, and more.

Impact & Outcomes

This project will result in a suite of trained and tested predictive models designed to support green asset management — including green roofs, green walls, low-impact developments, and agricultural systems. With the eventual commercialization of SoiLiNQ, Ginkgo will add up to three additional full-time roles and look to increase revenues through sales of multiple new products.
