Project

The “Secure Access Modernization for Critical Infrastructure” project will enhance Cyphercor’s MFA platform to better serve manufacturing and operational technology environments. The initiative introduces contextual push notifications, biometric authentication, and FIDO2-compliant smart card access for both connected and offline systems. Working with the uOttawa–IBM Cyber Range, the team will test and validate these innovations under simulated attack conditions. The project will deliver a production-ready platform capable of protecting air-gapped and hybrid environments, bridging physical and digital security, and enabling secure digital transformation without disrupting existing infrastructure.

Impact & Outcomes

The project will produce a validated, commercial-ready release of Cyphercor’s enhanced MFA solution, increasing its market reach by 25–30%. It is expected to boost revenue by 20–25% within 18 months and support the creation of 2–3 new high-skill cybersecurity roles in Ontario. By introducing offline-capable smart card logins and context-aware authentication workflows, Cyphercor will expand into regulated sectors such as manufacturing, energy, and transportation. The initiative strengthens Ontario’s cybersecurity ecosystem by delivering a homegrown, standards-based solution that safeguards critical industries and promotes secure modernization across Canada.
