Cognota Inc.

About

Cognota is a Toronto-based software company and creator of LearnOps, an operational platform purpose-built for corporate Learning and Development teams. The platform helps enterprises intake, plan, manage, and measure learning operations across departments, similar to how ERP systems support finance or HR systems manage people data. Cognota serves Fortune 1000 and mid-sized organizations in sectors including financial services, healthcare, manufacturing, and technology. The company is expanding its platform into AI-enabled workflow orchestration to help organizations improve workforce enablement, learning project execution, and visibility into training investments.

Project

This project will develop and validate an autonomous AI orchestration system for learning operations. Cognota will design a network of specialized AI agents that collaborate through shared context, retrieval-augmented generation, embedded business logic, and reasoning orchestration. These agents will support tasks such as request intake, triage, resource assignment, workflow monitoring, and risk identification while maintaining transparency, reliability, and secure operation. Lambton College’s AI4AM Lab will support architecture review, multi-agent testing, LLM and RAG validation, sandbox reliability testing, and performance evaluation to advance the system from prototype toward enterprise readiness.

Impact

The project will strengthen Cognota’s commercial platform by reducing manual administrative work for learning teams and helping organizations launch training initiatives faster. AI orchestration can improve capacity planning, decision-making, and measurement of learning operations while allowing human stakeholders to focus on strategic priorities rather than routine coordination. The project supports new high-skilled AI and software development activity in Ontario, creates a foundation for expansion into broader TalentOps and HROps markets, and demonstrates responsible use of AI agents in enterprise productivity software.
